Bullying can and does change people forever. Those who have been bullied can struggle with feelings of worthlessness, anxiety, and depression for the duration of their lives. To be preyed upon in this manner drives many to suicide because the pain it causes is too much for them to bear. To them it seems like there is no hope for things to change or get better. Bullying is not just a problem among children during the school-age years and in the school environment, it permeates our whole society. Society itself promotes its own “normal” and marginalizes those who do not fit into its predefined mold. This anthology contains a record of some of the feelings and emotions I experienced from bullying and from society as a whole. If you take note of the dates that the pieces were written, you will find that the bullying I experienced as a child led to increasing depression and suicidal desires prevalent in later works which are found all together in the anthology: The Struggle of the Light against the Darkness. We who have survived bullying and deal with the trauma of its aftermath need to take a stand and teach others a better way of living and interacting with our fellow man. And if you find yourself in the position to do something to discourage this behavior, please do what you can to help prevent others from experiencing the same horrors and injustices we have.
