Dealing with bullying and not fitting in with whatever “normal” people come up with can be extremely difficult. We are left asking questions like, “What did I do wrong?” or “What’s the matter with me?”, and the answer is nothing. The fault does not lie with us, and their actions toward us do not devalue or define us. Many of these behaviors and expectations are not right, normal, or acceptable no matter how much they try to convince us that it is. And although you may feel like the only one who doesn’t fit in, everyone feels that way about something. Most people are hiding that something deep down within themselves and doing their best to keep up a charade, but it’s not worth it. We have been handcrafted by the King of Kings and He calls each and every one of us beautiful, precious, and beloved. The Creator of the Universe did not make a mistake when He designed you just the way you are. He has a plan and a purpose for your life and He will use the most painful and broken parts of you and turn them into something wondrous. I hope that the resources listed below will encourage you to be who you are in a world that tells you to be like everyone else.

But all this does not even begin to cover all the different reasons we specifically find ourselves the victims of bullying. As I stated earlier, the reasons that people choose to bully us does not reflect on us, but rather on who they are deciding to be in that moment and who they continue making the choice to become for the rest of their lives. Although these choices may flow from a place of pain or dissatisfaction with their own selves, that is not always the case. Sometimes people are just plain mean, but either way, we are still stuck with dealing with the aftermath of their choices. Below are some articles, books, and individuals who have been bullied for varying reasons; whether it is because of who they are or how they look. I hope that these stories and resources help you and encourage you. Always remember that you are not alone. And if you don't see yourself represented, let me know, and send me some things that have helped you through your experience with bullying.
