An Invitation

An Invitation

Long have I grown this way with you in mind;
That you may climb up into my boughs,
Rest,
And find peace.
I have so much to tell you–
So much for you to learn.
There are friends to meet;
Like the birds,
The squirrels,
And the bees.
There are secrets to be shared–
Secrets of the earth;
Her memories,
And her hidden places.
And then there are new memories to be made;
Memories between you and me in the here and now.
So, come and wile away your time with me;
For I have centuries upon centuries to share with thee.
