And Me in a Garden Full of Cats The sun slowly begins its descent, Signaling the close of day. The cicadas sing, The leaves overhead whisper in the wind. A bird chirps; There it goes again. All the world is smiling, And here I lay, Eyes to the sky, Watching and listening. And they come, One by one, They come. Whiskers tickle my cheeks, My forehead. Questioning “Meorrrrs”, Followed by the rumbling of purrs. They all come, Whither to lay by my side or to frolic about on a whim, They come. All the world is smiling, And I smile back, Because it is just the world and me in a garden full of cats.
