I Only Provide Rest I open my eyes to meet the darkness of the night. Numberless stars twinkle and dash about in the heavens, The moon's light drifts down ever so softly before alighting upon the ground. The wind comes alive, Surging forward one moment only to fall back the next; Pulsating like the ocean's waves. There's a peace and a silence that surrounds me; Even wilst the crickets and cicadas are singing their symphonies of the night. It is beautiful, Wondrous. It cups me in its hands of inky blackness and whispers in my ear, "My darling, there is no need to shutter and shy, I will be here for you till the day you die. I will always come, at the close of the day, to wipe your pain away. I will hold you as you spend your tears and utter unto me all your fears. I will rock you with my gentle night winds and breath peace into your tired body; And I will bring you rest."
