Night Butterflies

Night Butterflies

Have you ever taken time to go out and breathe the soft night air;
The moon glowing softly thousands of miles above you?
Have you ever listened to the hoot of the night owls,
The symphony of the frogs,
Or seen the magnificent night butterflies in their flight?
Polyphemus’,
Cecropias,
Lunas;
Night butterflies far more big and beautiful than the butterflies found by the light of day.
The feathery antennae,
The delicate sweep of giant wings,
These night butterflies are silent delightful beauties not many stop to see.
Delicately they dance beneath the star speckled sky,
Kissing sleepy flowers’ faces with dainty silken feet.
Gently they flutter;
The night wind blowing their kisses to you,
Which land like tiny blessings from these night butterflies to you.
