Sometimes it is not Enough

Sometimes it is not enough,
And an apology can never wash off the blood that stains the walls within a heart.
Sometimes it is too little and too late;
Sometimes irreparable damage has already been made.

Sometimes such a wound can be due to carelessness or ignorance,
But sometimes they are inflicted by something stronger such as malice or hate.
And sometimes the hallowed chambers of a heart become stained with blood,
And riddled with scars.
But let me tell you a secret:
The longer you wait,
The harder it is to get the stains out.
The longer you wait,
The harder it becomes to repair the scars.
And by then…
An apology isn’t going to get you very far.
