Wild and free,
The flame burns bright.
But time—
And life
Smother and choke,
And then the spirit becomes nothing more than a flicker.
Instead of growing and soaring;
Reaching new heights,
It flickers,
And struggles.
But this fire within,
It watches and waits;
Ready for the chance to spread its wings,
And show the world all that it is meant to be.
